They were either let into the ground drunk or they got drunk in the ground.
either they shouldnt have been let in the ground or they shouldnt have been served. Catch 22 with the club needing the money not wanting to be turning punters away from the ground or the bar

I don't think that alchol was the problem being honest with you, just think that particular group were horrible people.

I didn't think any of their fans appeared particularly drunk in the first half. Boisterous yes, but drunk no. Its not that difficult to drink 6 pints and not appear drunk, or at least to hide it as a drink is ordered. What is the club supposed to do? Breathalyse everyone as they enter the ground and buy a drink?!Completely impractical.
I'm sure many fans at the Pan, especially away fans, have had a few beers before a game, but only a small thuggish minority end up like the idiots yesterday.
The alcohol policy had nothing to do with the trouble yesterday, its only those who weren't there that seem to think it did

I said on an earlier post that the fans involved were a different breed. Have you seen the videos they have posted of their day out? I wouldn't have wanted to be travelling on that train.

They shouldn't sell booze on trains, quite clearly.

We do not have breathalysers on the gate and we don't need them. The atmosphere in the Rook Inn pre-match was wonderful and very friendly but pretty quiet until about 2.40pm when fans from both sides flooded in and crowded the bar. Indeed the guy at the centre of the trouble may not have been able to even buy a pint in the ground at all, such was the demand. What I do know is that the main culprit spent last night in Eastbourne police cells in the proximity of the two of three local youngsters arrested for breaking into the Rook Inn later on. Number three was nabbed this morning. I understand that the guy from NW London woke up in the cells contrite and very embarrassed and apologetic and prepared to put right whatever wrong he had committed. I report this without prejucide but he has at least said sorry which is positive. He deserves whatever sentence is forthcoming and in my opinion a ban from attending a significant number of Wealdstone home (and if possible. away) games will not be inappropriate. I do believe the Wealdstone management have agreed to pay for any damages incurred. Despite all this, I did enjoy the long, long day. Hopefully also the junior burglars will have learned a lesson - don't mess with the Mighty Rooks. Only in non-league!

dkb22 went over my head a bit that one! Wish I was 20 years younger and understood things! Were you laughing with me or at me? I have broad-ish shoulders so I can take it! My 'trains' comment was intended to be ironic though.

Some of the posts on there are unbelievable. Looks as if most of them don't feel it was a big deal how their fans behaved. How sad.

The character in the video is the gossiping busy-body of the town. The vicar's wife, always on a moral crusade or trying to ban something. There's a lot of them in Worthing apparently!

There was a thread created on Saturday night on their forum entitled. If you don't like Wealdstone supporters - the message underneath said "f*** off".. It was deleted not long after.

I'd be happy to. 'Big' men who probably crawled home, knocked their wives about a bit and then tried to email the EDL about how rubbish it all is by writing on their TV with a crayon.
