Yes it would be nice to know who will profit from this sell-off. Not "owners" apparently.

You can't sit in your all-seater seat with a pint in your hand. And if you can buy a drink at the Amex bar, why do so many BHA fans fill the pubs of Lewes two hours before kick-off?

I've been to Wealdstone on a few occasions and they are a decent bunch of fans - in fact I know the guy who runs their club shop from my days following England abroad. I also met a few of them yesterday who read my blog and they were keen to talk and urge me to come back for another visit.
I saw three or four who seemed to have an issue with ref and Liam Mitchell in the second half. For them to blame alcohol served in the ground is niave and misguided. I am sure their genuine fans were as embarrassed as we were.
However, we had a young chap in a green away shirt standing by the entrance to the Rook Inn after the game goading them. He couldn't have been more than 15 or 16 and was a complete tool who obviously is too young to know better but he wasn't making the situation any better.

Many BHA fans live in Lewes and hence why they drink locally before going to Amex.

Wow, what a thread and thanks for the general lack of vilification of me for the point raised.
Listen, I know that drinking on the terraces at Lewes is a lot of fun and that 99% of the time gives everyone no problems at all. I also don't know what the terms of your licence is for the Rook Inn is or even what the league rules are with regard to whether drinking on the terraces should be allowed.
What I do know is that most clubs do not allow it and there has to be a good reason for this. Equally common sense would dictate that when a game featuring a team whose supporters are likely to be a bit "old school" (ie, Newport, Wealdstone, Boreham Wood etc) it is unwise for them to have the ability to drink solidly through their time in the ground while watching the game. I'm sure this will all come out in the wash when the various internal and external investigations take place. The fact that you allow drinking on the terraces is great from a personal point of view, but operationally, I'd find a nightmare and knock on the head at once. I come to football for the football, not the drink - if my main interest was the latter, I'd hole up at one of your numerous excellent local pubs instead.
Just my opinion.

Don't think being able to drink during the game was responsible for the very few idiots who caused the trouble. Didn't notice many of their fans with drinks in their hands during first half and second half they were at opposite end to the Bar. Lets not use drink as an excuse, they obviously have a few complete morons who "follow" their team and are a disgrace to both Wealdstone and Football in general.

Surely if anyone is drunk or abusive in any football ground the rules are ejection from the ground by stewards. I have seen it at Mansfield , Oxford or even Eastbourne Borough drunk supporters are thrown out, end of. If the situation yesterday was nipped in the bud straight away and the troublemaker thrown out the other roudy lot would have thought twice about causing trouble. How many stewards did you have in the away end?

The big shaven-headed guy by the fence in Stuart's series of pics (he appears elsewhere) is the one who abused the kid. Perhaps Wealdstone would like to have a word with him . . .

Spur - it wouldn't surprise me if his image has been captured at other grounds higher up the leagues.

I think that alcohol only had a little to do with it. I didn't see anyone obviously drunk or much beer at all being taken to the Ham Lane End. This is stated quite clearly on the Wealdstone forum by someone who seems to talk a lot of sense. Some of the away supporters had it in for the referee from the moment he awarded the dodgy penalty. They then worked themselves up into more of a frenzy with every decision that didn't go their way. Every Lewes tackle, free kick, corner or anything was met with howls of complaint by some. Missing that penalty was the final straw. Come the 90th minute some are really pent up and ready to make their feelings known as usual to the referee as he walks off.

I have followed Slough Town home and away for over 30 years, but living in Brighton sometimes go and watch Lewes. I can honestly say, Lewes are the most well behaved supporters i've ever come across, especially when i've seen provocation from Woking and Bognor fans. Sometimes the politeness does my head in, the beer doesn't seem to get them wound up enough! But having a beer on the terraces at this level of football should be fine and certaintly is at the Dripping Pan. Otherwise in other news, all cars are now banned because every year thousands of people are killed and maimed by them.

I don't think beer being served during the match had anything at all to do with yesterday's disorder. I also think its ridiculous that people who clearly weren't at the game have waded into this debate slating the club's alcohol policy.
These Wealdstone 'fans' were aggressive neanderthals who were spoiling for trouble - I find it very hard to believe that the extra pint they may have consumed in the ground was what caused the trouble and had they been restricted to the 6 they had previously drunk all would have have been fine! They were complete idiots who evidently take the whole thing far too seriously, judging by the pathetic explanations that have been given on their forum.
As for people (again evidently not at the game) saying they should have been ejected, well, yes they should, but how can a small number of stewards physically eject a dozen drunk skinheads?! Impossible. Perhaps this raises a question that more security should be on hand for clubs known to have troublesome followings? I certainly think the police should have been called much earlier, but the stewards couldn't have done more
