In the second half Lewis Hamilton turned their left back inside out leaving him free to run in to the box and play a square ball across, creating two good chances for us. Running into the box was something I felt we haven't done enough recently as getting in the box your either going to have a good chance, or get a penalty.

I agree, Hamilton going forward in the second half was one of the highlights. He showed some nice skill and their full-back couldn't handle his pace. One of the better players in a meek performance.

yes it was pre season. yes worthing played well and yes it's a brand new team but maybe this is a bit of a reality check for those on here who think lewes are going to run away with the league next year. for me somner looked like the ball winning midfielder we've needed for a while. malcolm looked lively and most likely to make something happen.

To put it bluntly Lewes looked like a team who had known each other for a few hours whereas Worthing looked like a proper team. Give King a couple of weeks and this team will be real contenders.
Last season Farnborough got off to a bad start and look where they finshed.

2nd and didn't get promoted seriously though. i do agree this will be a different team come the start of the season my point was perspective to those getting carried away.

i agree with the other assessments. a few nice individual moments but not quite enough togetherness at this point. i felt we looked a little bit off the pace as well but that fitness will come over the course of the preseason. once we're up to full spend i am sure we'll be a hard team to contain.

fitness, preseason....theres two words that just dont resonate with some players. i wonder how many players were on holiday, at work or injured instead of getting battered into shape in what used to be called preseason traing. you'll hear lazy players saying 'i'll get fit by playing' . nonsense. boxers cant get fit by fighting. lets see the rooks being able to turn it up in the last ten minutes due to superior fitness. lets have no excuses about running out of steam for whatever reason. the first ten games will shape our season. let's start full on.

Yes it would be nice to know who will profit from this sell-off. Not "owners" apparently.

Great expectations but Worthing were in it to win. They flipped the ball from side to side, and never gave up. Draycott seemed to be playing on the right wing and he and Booth missed chances on goal - or the Worthing keeper made fine saves. Worthing missed chances too. Somner seemed to be helping out in defence, and very effectively. Ciardini was thwarted by the Worthing defence but put in crosses several times. Michael Malcolm was my man of the match but he seemed to be playing in central midfield. Robinson and Hamilton both turned their defensive roles into attack with ease. I think some of our squad were putting less effort into the game than the Worthing squad. Fenelon did look good but the subs had little time to make amends. Only a friendly – so not too important - except we probably had as many supporters as Worthing and they probably went home feeling disappointed.

all the team needs is time to gel. once this has happened im sure well be playing beautiful football. i agree this squad needs fitness to last the distance. i agree with billy that they should be put through there paces. preseason is a massive part of the modern game even at our level

Although we lost the game I saw enough potential out there to suggest we will have a very good and entertaining season. If we played Worthing in a meaningfull game in the near future I would bet on the result being a lot different.

It was only a pre-season friendly so early days yet. However it is worth having a bit of a reality check. There will be plenty of well organised and determined teams to play next season and it's no good thinking that all we have to do is turn up to win.
I didn't think anyone played particularly badly or particularly well. Worthing just looked a bit more up for it and the result was a fair one.

Have to get used to it because there will be plenty of more teams up for it playing a relegated team
