Thank god it was a pre season game. We looked very slow on the ball and Worthing's defence had Booth, Malcolm and Draycott in there back pocket.
I still believe will we get better i would like to see Malcolm play on the wing rather than upfront. Fenelon acctually played very well when he came on but i dont think we need him simply because we already have Mcbean,Booth,Draycott and Cade.
Man of the match in my view was Lewis Hamilton attacked the left hand side very well and put in some good crosses.
UP THE ROOKS

It was pretty awful to be honest but then felt very much a pre season kick about. The goal very sloppy, Mark Zawadski gave the order for Merchant to "head it home" when he was facing his own net about a meter from his own goal at chest hight so he attempted to chest it down to keeper but it came off his chest and a Worthing player just slipped in the middle and nodded it in.

Not great, but only a friendly. I thought McBean looked quite useful in the second half, made a couple of nice touches and looks promising. Not much to write home about other than that. Gave me a nice feeling to see Booth up front for the rooks again though!
Will be interesting to see what happens with Cham, I thought he looked really up for it today.

Also Gary Holloway and Max Hustwick were at the game today, both injured but Hustwick said he should be back next week, not sure about Holloway though.

It was only a friendly.
We obviously have some very talented players but nowhere near a team yet. But that's not surprising this early. I have seen enough to think that when the proper games come along we will be quite good. It was not great today. Lewes seemed to play it like a training game. Worthing seemed to play it like a cup final. Fair play to them though, they were very good and looked very committed and to be honest another goal would not have flattered them. Lewes made some good openings but Worthings defence made some excellent blocks and tackles. I nearly choked on my chips when I saw who was warming up at half-time with Simon Wormull. The one and only Chamal Fenelon. I assume he is only a triallist as we have 4 strikers already. But to be fair to him, he did quite well when he came on, showed some fancy footwork and had one good shot on target.

The King is back though somewhat quiet perhaps can be forgiven it is Pre season. Robbo surged forward a few times and I was thinking shame he cant play in both positions at once! Solid, good in the air dependable. No. 2 (see above) 1st half clanger or what there again perhaps the keeper shouldve handled (no pun intended or was it!) the situation, gift and Worthing 1-0 up having I believe just one soft shot previous with Lewes commanding early on looked like we were crusing to a 10-0 win.
Draycott did well supporting attacking moves taking players on but when we have the ball in defence and ready to clear he was out of position. Malcom was inspirational at Crawley he played on the wing there, today he was mid and behind the front runner/s where he saw more of the ball and looked threatening, just heeds to improve his passing as do some others!
Looked like we left out shooting boots behind or noone could hit the dam thing hard enough! We had enough chances created enough early on to win comfortably but as the game drifted away so Worthing grew stronger and we ran outta time despite great chance late on with a 1 on 1 on keeper we still couldnt score.
Booth faded towards the end but early on worked hard. Some needless fouls conceeded in dangersous areas of the pitch but hey its pre season. Cham was superb just didnt have enough time or chance to rip them open but he was solid and massive for us up front. Scares the life outta defenders and will be a massive addition to the squad. Doesnt work as hard and needs the ball played to feet or an easy head and knock down but the power is there give him time give him the ball give him chances he can score and shoot like a rocket!
Malcolm is the ticket to success though feed him as much as possible, players around must show call more for the ball and he will destroy teams has superb 1st touch, lightening speed and showed once or twice how quickly he can move into space. Very impressed with him despite few stray passes.
Its pre season ok we lost but we created far more openings opportunities than them and in time they will gel and have the best maanger the club has ever had. Can only get better despite losing im encouraged by some of the postives mentioned herein.
No idea crowd guess 40 or therebouts visitors made the trip West!

UP THE ROOKS Malcolm shouldve switched to the flank when Fen was upfront briefly with Booth and fed him and then get balls onto their heads and either couldve knocked ball down for the other, but otherwise a bold decision by King to play Malcolm where he did, thought it allowed his skills to be in the game far more and so long as he improves his passing he will worry defenders and be a threat.

No4 was Mustapha, not sure in a forename.
Agree with the posters above about Malcolm, Booth etc but I thought it was one of the worst performances I've seen from Lewis Hamilton. Cardini is not quick enough to be a winger and was exposed several times at left-back. MoM for me was Somner who's drive, tackling and simple passing embodied what we were crying out for last season. Understated but superb performance.
