Am I in a parallel universe? Have absolutely no idea what’s being discussed re Lil Kross! Basically, a rap artist, named Lil Kross, was to entertain the crowd at half time on Sunday. I'm an old codger and have never even heard of him, but apparently his song lyrics are not really in line with the Lewes FC ethos and caused some consternation among supporters. Fair play to the club for listening and cancelling him. I was hoping we might get a last minute replacement by Deep Purple but I don't think that will happen. 😄

Have just looked at the “lyrics”of Racks by Lil Kross. I have to ask in all seriousness who even considered that this “artist” would be remotely suitable for appearing at the Pan? Summer madness?

Seems to me like this was another hare brain stunt by the club aimed at attracting more publicity. Out of interest will there be any half time entertainment at the men’s match tomorrow against Eastbourne Borough or are we expected to entertain ourselves?

i do trust we wont be subject to yet more hare brained schemes only seeing as we dont have a pot to pee in how on earth can the club justify this lunacy if it had gone ahead i suspect many would have walked out i put it to you thats the reason it was cancelled FEAR OF LOSING MONEY and not because the club suddenly developed a conscience

Can we all just try and keep the ball on the ground here. I’m sure our manager is doing his best to bring a striker in with the budget he has been given. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t care if it’s Lil Kroos or Taylor swift singing, he’s got his job and the board do theirs.

Given the nice hot weather, maybe the club should just revert to good old-fashioned fun like a wet T-shirt competition?
(Tin hat on, for all those with no sense of humour)

For those who don't do Facebook here is a reply to a question on the Supporters Club page.........
"Yes, Chris – I know the answer to this. No, the club weren’t going to pay him and yes, he was going to do it out of the goodness of his own heart. My name is Neil and I am a fan and volunteer at the club. This half-time show was my idea, I take full responsibility for it and I apologise for the furore that it has caused.
I introduced Armand (real name) to Lewes a couple of years ago and he has been a huge fan of Lewes since. He lives in Paris but watches the Rooks regularly when he is over in summer, most recently the women Vs MK Dons and the men Vs Haywards Heath away.
He has been a friend and colleague of mine for 8 years now. We both work in international education (he is a teacher), helping youngsters from around the world to grow in confidence, to become more independent, to broaden their minds and be more open minded, to be kind, and a whole lot more.
Armand loves the club and wanted to give back. Our theme of the week here at school is “Equality, Women’s Football and Lewes FC” with the conclusion to the week being a trip to the Dripping Pan to watch the women Vs Worthing. He has spent this whole week teaching our students about Equality FC through a specially made Lewes FC syllabus that we have put together. We will be bringing 121 people to the game tomorrow but he will no longer be joining us.
If you are at the Pan tomorrow and see over 100 kids chanting Lewes FC songs, holding Lewes FC posters, wearing Lewes themed t-shirts and waving Lewes flags that they’ve made - know that this was Armand’s work. Of course the show would have been child friendly, he regularly performs in child friendly environments and has over 90 songs that are child friendly and share positive messages. His lyrics have to be understood within the culture and genre of rap (we are Equality FC after all), and most of them may need translation to be fully understood.
Unfortunately, we have scared off an amazing human who loves the club and simply wanted to give back. As I am sure you are aware, the club is always looking for volunteers. Armand was one of us and he didn’t deserve this at all".

Then maybe you or the club should have made it a bit more clearer who he was and what he was trying to do for the club.

As usual no context or communication by the club. But why does he sing / rap about something he apparently doesn't agree with. The lyrics of his music and his social media presence are out there whether its him or not.

Feel like we've had Rolling Stones, Kiss or Bowie songs played at Pan without anyone kicking off

What's weird is that this kind and supportive educationalist can sing such filth! But if all this had been known in advance the civilised side of his personality would almost certainly have been welcome at the Pan along with all the kids he's nurtured.

surely as we dont have a pot pee in the club would be better served by raising badly needed funds instead of chasing hare brained schemes and its not like lil cross has been the only one
