I appreciate that with Jack having left, we do not have somebody committed to doing social media at the club, but at the minute the effort put into it is abysmal. Throughout pre-season there has been sun-par match day and player content. This needs sorting ASAP because at the moment it is hard to tell whether we are a football club or not. Perhaps less focus needs to be put on developing fancy pre-season shirts (which look awful by the way) and more on the basics.

I presume you will be stepping up to volunteer some time to help the club with its communications?

I presume you will be stepping up to volunteer some time to help the club with its communications? Lewes has owners/supporters from the around the world, we can't assume that every fan is local to Lewes. Perhaps josephrooks relies on the club's social media for updates, hence the frustration.

Why would he have to be local to do social media for the club? Anyway, in answer to his question I'm not sure generating social media content is a core part of a football club. We've played some friendlies, the fixtures are out and season tickets are being sold.

I think you need to look at every other football club that exists and reassess your stance.

As for the frendlies, there are plenty of clubs at our level who provide such commentary or even the bare minimum updates to their fans online. We haven't even provided the results to any of our games.

They could look up the scores online? What else do they need. The name Trialist listed 1-11? The point is the club requires volunteers to do stuff, if it's that important volunteer. We've never really gone in for a lot of online stuff prior to the season starts or revealing too many signings. Stuart has patiently explained why every time.

I'm not sure what his job description is but it's not engaging with fans, he never answers any e mails or questions about either team on social media and his is a paid position.

Why would he have to be local to do social media for the club? Preparing social media requires a clued in "on the ground" presence. How could a person remote from the club, who is generally kept in the dark, produce anything? This is one of the area's that has suffered from the budget cuts. For the past several years we've had paid people covering a variety of jobs and a wonderful local volunteer handling the social media. Throwing this job on top of all their other work, is giving the skeleton paid staff headaches. In comparison to a few past years, the club has definitely gone "local". My take is that it is actually the desired direction for many. As a remote owner, it has given me pause. With a lot fewer chances to view (FA Player) or stream matches, I hesitated in renewing my ownership. I just won't be as connected as in the past.

With a lot fewer chances to view (FA Player) or stream matches, I hesitated in renewing my ownership. I just won't be as connected as in the past. Prior to the club appointing a communications manager in 2022, all social media, newsletters etc was carried out by volunteers, including directors. On many occasions there was criticism levelled at the club for not providing enough updates. I rarely see other clubs communicate as much as Lewes do. Weekly (often more) newsletters, a great online programme, a superb live streaming offering for owners, regular town halls and other sessions at the club. These have continued since Jack departed and I dare say will continue in the coming months. As someone suggested earlier, volunteers to take on some of the load would, I am sure, be always welcome by the club. I fully understand some people can’t or won’t volunteer but before the club get both barrels it’s worth considering if you could be part of the solution and help hundreds of other fans stay updated. To misquote former US President John F Kennedy, “Ask not what your club can do for you, but what you can do for your club”

I’d be happy to help out if that’s what people need? I’ve always been happy keeping an eye on social feeds for any tidbits, I assumed everyone else was too.

I can feel the frustration emanating from your post but what exactly are you expecting at this stage of pre season? If you could clarify this would be helpful. Perhaps the info you want has been published but missed?
