Why does a person on here suggest it's an anti woman thing that is a ridiculous comment. Know one on here as said that. It's about 100% fan ownership ,which will not be maintained. Look at mercury 13. They are an investment company. They will not spend hundreds of thousands improving everything too the lever some people suggest. They will invest too a certain level then move Lewes ladies on by selling too whoever. They see a huge profit opportunity due too our popular ethos and the huge money that is rightly entering the woman's game So you will be intimidated and keep quiet. Simples

My earlier point remains valid, I think. Of course Mercury 13 want a return and like any investment fund a target will be set and if they fail to achieve it, they will look at alternatives.
This could include selling on, moving the team (not the club) elsewhere or anything they wish. 51% means they have total control and there is nothing we can do about it.
The Pan is a small ground, meaning low income. Suggestions of developing it are interesting; has anyone looked at Planning Regulations in Lewes?

It is pure guesswork or scaremongering to suggest that Lewes Women would be sold on afterwards as that has not been mentioned anywhere. The email also says we would be able to buy equity back after the 3-5 year period. I kind of understand no longer having 100% fan ownership of Lewes fc women as being an argument against the investment. But ultimately we have two choices, stay as we are and see our women’s team struggle to compete. Which would mean a loss in revenue for the club across the board as a result of less tv revenue etc, reduced gates and so on. Or we take on the investment and continue to grow which in turn will increase sponsorship, ownership and our infrastructure. Mercury 13 also appear to be made up of football experts who could really improve our operation as a club. I do think it would be great to see/hear in Lehman’s terms what exactly the plans would be from them in terms of the targets set and how this would impact the club as maybe this would our minds at rest. I think it is worth remembering that those on the board are all volunteers who want what’s best for the club, I’ve no doubt that a lot of thought and effort has gone into ensuring that this investment will not harm our club in any way - ultimately they are not going to profit from this so there is no incentive to want anything else.

One very simple question: how does Mercury 13 get a return on its investment when the club has a maximum crowd of a few thousand at most?

A lot of very sensible points and what we need in time is more information. regarding “scaremongering” again given we don’t know the detail it is easy to jump to the worst conclusions but unless we discuss our red lines in advance (staying at the Pan for example) they we agree to anything and everything because we won’t have control Finally I don’t know if all of the group have been revealed but there are football people involved. Didn’t Victoria Reynal run a football agency? So knows all about squeezing value out of football for her clients though that doesn’t preclude her from growing one part of the club

You can see I have nothing planned this morning. If you accept that women’s football is now on the rise permanently then one way to make money is to increase the asset value. Just as Manchester United gets fought over by billionaires and Riyadh United by Middle Eastern dictatorships; a club in the top division in England would become a very valuable commodity

I'm just trying to imagine this fantastically lucrative premiership enterprise, rivalling the Uniteds of this world, with money pouring in from various tasty contracts, but at most a few thousand paying customers (and the odd dog?) at the Pan. Could that work?

This is the most succinct comment in this whole thread. I imagine a few individuals involved in the decision are envisaging a nice salary increase... Er..., the board are all unpaid volunteers. And the CEO? And maybe a few unpaid volunteers are eyeing a salaried position in the future? With respect, you sound like you've been thoroughly brain-washed by whatever leaked promises you've been fed.

Off course I meant Lewes woman I didn't realise it was offensive too call them Lewes ladies! I understand we can buy back the equity I have read the full email. How would we be in a position too buy back the equity if mercury 13;increase the size and value of club too what they see as it's full potential. I don't give a dam about football clubs becoming financial vehicles. I will watch Lewes FC if they are in southern combination league. I'd rather have the 100% fan ownership I signed up too.

One very simple question: how does Mercury 13 get a return on its investment when the club has a maximum crowd of a few thousand at most? Presumably in the same way that top level football has moved on financially so that normal 'pay at the gate fans' are the least important part of the equation. TV, sponsors, etc etc etc

My take is that one thing appears very clear. The mysterious and never-fully-explained trust fund left by the previous sugar-daddies is almost gone. And the resulting view of those left in charge is that this capitulation of the Big Idea is less embarrassing than shedding all the cuddly stuff – and resorting to competing locally against the likes of Seaford FC and all the good community work that they do on the back of their simple old men's non-league football team.
