What was the team and who scored? Apparantly there were quite a few players who didnt make the game due to the lorry crash on the motorway, I hope that wont be a problem during the season with players living far away

I think the Lucozade* that Pav gave them at HT made a difference in the 2nd Half. It was a shame about the sloppy mistakes by Keeper and defence made in the 1st half. When Robbo came on it made a big difference.
4/5 goals were scored at the clubhouse end, so I got a good view.

Agree with Nickboy about Malvin Kamara, he was the highlight of the night for me, I think with the set up it looks like we'll be having an attacking right back like him is exactly what we need to feed our wolf pack of strikers! McBean slo looked class when he came on, Dwane Lee looked good too and I think you might be being a bit harsh on Pringle. The first Eastbourne goal was a freak incident and the other two we effectively scored fro them although they were both classy finishes.
Incidentally, it was Michael Malcolm who scored both goals I think, missed the one at the end of the first half but his second was a strike from the edge of the box. Oh, and it wasn't Boothy who missed at the end, it was Draycott, just didn't have a long enough neck!
All in all, encouraging despite the result and its gonna be an exciting season!

It would be a lie to say that I wasn't disappointed with the result, but... I have to use the cliche; "it's only pre-season". I'm confident that when poised with a fully fit, all available squad, we'll run riot. COYR.

Eastbourne town played 2 u17 and 2 u18 and even our own former u18 captain Stacey Freeman. The two u17 didn't come on till the 60th min. So much for trying out youngster's Lewes still need time to gel, our passing was off, the last ball to long. One passing movement in the second half was from our goal keeper to a scoring chance in 4 moves in less then 60 secs when we should have scored. Most of our crosses were beautiful, unfortunately we failed to put that final touch at the strikers end. After three or four real competitive games we will be able to see our true league position and possible outcome, and it will be high up the league. Our players are good solid players and Good players are always good players. We will do well this season

here's the team Zawadski, Kamara, Pringle (Steve Robinson 52), Sterling, Hamilton, Adelakun (Wallace 80), Lee, Peauroux (McBean 57), Lambu (Ciardini 53), Malcolm, Booth (Draycott 69). Unused Subs: Lang. and report lewesfc.com/news/2011/08/05/rooks-trumped-by-townFrom my understanding of who's going to start the first game maybe only 4 (Hamilton, Sterling, Booth and Malcolm) started this one. But of course i'm not the man in charge

I didn't see this game. But if Eastbourne Town are as good as some have said then they have got to be worth a bet. Skybet are offering 66/1 for them to win the league.
Whitehawk are odds on favourites at 4/5.
