I expected them to get a chance at a national south club. I didn't think they'd entertain dropping down a league.

Any bets on how many of last seasons Lewes squad end up there too? I’d go 2 or less - at least before the season starts. Most already have deals in place with other clubs.

Just watched the interview where he mentions he’s blown away by ramsgate giving laptops to kids and providing helicopter rides for kids who haven’t been on an aeroplane. Says that excites him as much as the football points do.
Not convinced thats the main selling point, more than likely he’s up for padding his stats in a lower league, same as JT, along with a healthy budget. Fair enough.

Therefore, all the "extras" the ROOKS do aren't enough. Strange.

I expected them to get a chance at a national south club. I didn't think they'd entertain dropping down a league. Three years of finishing outside the play offs is hardly a ringing endorsement. Much as they play an entertaining brand of football it's a results game and they've fallen just short. Should have a good budget at Ramsgate and of course Taylor guarantees at least 25 goals in that league.

robm99 It’s got to be all about money first , guessing but I bet if Lewes offered them a much better budget they would still be at Lewes and all that the club stands for but money has great pulling powers these days for most people.

In all fairness, he had a decent budget in comparison to where we seem to be now, a 35 goal a season striker and some real big players in Tanner/Razz/Deon etc.. To not even get into the play offs after three bites of the cherry is a failure to be honest.
People can dress it up and have their opinions, but I’ve found the football a bit dull at times, a lot of sideways balls and toothless up top - reminds me of van Gaal at United. I will say though, the good days were very good, just nowhere near enough of them.
Good luck to him down at ramsgate, but there’s a reason he’s not moved onto the conference south or a big hitting isthmian side.

Helicopter rides for kids, can somebody suggest that to the board, might stop the bad behaviour at games.
Tony had 3 seasons and although the football was undoubtedly attractive, there was no noticeable trajectory of improvement over the course of his tenure. As we keep being told, football is a results based business and 3 seasons of not quite making the playoffs isn't exactly a ringing endorsement of Tony's management skills at this level.
It's not all that surprising that he has dropped down a level to Ramsgate, it will be fascinating to see how he gets on.

The biggest failing last season was not replacing Taylor, so at least they won't have that problem. Persevering with Wood, then dumping him but not bringing in a replacement. The goals against tally has also been consistently high.
