One solitary moment of quality gave us the three points today in a match we could so easily have lost. With fifteen minutes remaining Ola fired in a venomous, swerving free kick from out on the right and Jake Elliott buried a sumptuous header.
They gave Jake MoM for that, and no wonder. Until then we had been horribly disjointed. Blame the wind and rain if you like, but Bognor faced the same conditions and will be asking themselves how they lost - having missed an open goal, forced a brilliant one-handed save from Nathan and hit the bar twice.
A crowd of 1474 watched this - including some shrieking kids right behind us who we came close to throttling - and a burst of firecrackers celebrated our first win of 2024. COYR!

Not wishing to put a damper on proceedings , but our SPONSOR chose Nathan HARVEY for MOM , for that excellent one-handed save in 1st half.

That's three great results from three difficult opponents. Let's hope 2024 brings some of the same. Credit to manager and players. COYR

Possibly our worst home performance of the season, in terms of lack of chances created and constantly giving the ball away. Bognor will justifiably feel they've been mugged but, hey ho, sometimes you just win ugly and move on. Great delivery into the box for the goal, great header by Elliott (also thought I heard him announced motm). Superb save by Harvey...the rest very forgettable. I don't like Tamplin at right back. Anyway, seven points from the last three games including two tricky away fixtures gets us back on track.

Bognor may feel hard done but their fans got exactly what they deserved. Absolutely classless from them towards Tamplin today. Everyone associated with Bognor should be thoroughly embarrassed.

Perfect summary from Spur. However, for all Bognor's quality in the wide positions, I think I'm right to say that Nathan's great first- half save was the only one he actually had to make. But I think it is also fair to say that the result masks the fact that we were poor going forward until we went ahead and if we keep playing like that, with very little movement off the ball and little cohesion, we can't expect to repeat today's result very often in 2024. And yes, Jake Elliott was definitely announced as Man of the Match.

I didn’t see it that way at all . Bognor looked well organised and very sprightly all around the park and for me until the last 20 minutes a draw would have been fair but we did miss a massive chance to win the game 2-0. Taking Nathans fantastic save in to account we still deserved our win. The cow field the other night at Hornchurch and what I’ve witnessed in both games Bognor were equally as good if not better! Great win and well deserved in my humble opinion.

They probably had the better of the play but then who cares. How often have we got less than we deserves. Well done to the lads for staying in the game.

Let's give Bognor a bit of credit here. We weren't great due partly to some very good pressing from them which forced lots of errors. We've lost and drawn countless games that we should have won. That's football. It's just nice to be on the right side of it this time. I think Tamplin got some abuse as the Bognor fans thought he should have been sent off. Maybe. Maybe not. No worse than their 4 though, who sidelined Gondoh for months. COYR.

Crossed the line from banter to downright abuse by taunting him all game about personal issues. Giving players stick is one thing but bringing family matters into it is classless.

Archie has had a lot to overcome. I was really impressed by the run he made before being knocked unconscious recently, showed real bravery. I’m not sure he’s a full back either - prefer to see him further forward. Any abuse he gets will endear him to me all the more. Pleased he’s here 👍

Yes, more of a tubster than last time we saw him, but always looking for trouble and must have as many yellows over his career as a pack of cards, plus a few reds besides. Was taken off at halftime at their place after being carded for the Gondoh foul that sparked a mini riot.
