Arthur Bradfield passed away today. Until illness prevented him attending matches he and wife Janet and family were regulars at Lewes matches home and away for decades. Arthur was a great and cheerful character. Barbara and I have lived in Saint John Street, Lewes, for 50 years as of this last month but Arthur and Janet were here well before us.

Sorry to hear that, David. When I first got involved at the Club, no longer able to resist your constant arm twisting, my first job was running the golden goal at the season ticket gate, and Arthur ran that gate. We had many a jovial chat during the quiet periods, before things got busy as kick-off approached. Saw him and Janet around town occasionally, including a few months ago, when he obviously wasn't in great health, but was still cheery. Shame to lose another old character, like Peter and Derrick.
