Amazing stuff!! (Minibus to Romania?) Is there a date on when these games are likely to be?

Beautiful! A nice honor. What will be the effect on the budget?

Beautiful! A nice honor. What will be the effect on the budget? The playing budget? None as players are paid on a weekly not a game basis

Once the draw has taken place, we will work with our group opponents to find suitable dates. Last season the first group matches took place in October, with the finals taking part in early in June. We are likely to play two games before Christmas and two between January and early April.
Also just actually read it all properly (now I’ve calmed down)

Playing devil's advocate here, as it's a brilliant opportunity for the club, players and fans but would be interested to hear the thinking behind this. Bound to have an impact on league form, fixture congestion and players getting time off work, not to mention the budget. Will we be sending the first team?

Why is it bound to have an impact on league form? Fixture congestion? It’s four additional games to be played before the end of April. Yep, we may have to travel with a smaller squad but it will be the strongest available for the away games but it’s also a huge opportunity for the club, a real honour for us.

Wow! Exciting news well done to the club for making this happen. Hopefully home fixtures won't coincide with European matches at the Amex and the Pan is full up.

I would hope that UEFA would be footing the bills for travel, accommodation etc etc. It's probably loose change to them as I suspect they've got a few bob tucked away. 🙄
Meanwhile, I wonder if we can get a Stodgebuster meal in Bucharest?

I can recommend a nice little sushi place near the centre, if that counts as stodge?

It’s all been factored into the decision whether we took part or not. One notable difference with the tournament compared to some other cup competitions is that the home side keeps all the match day revenues rather than splitting it. So the more people pack the Pan for the games, the better.
