:)Excellent news indeed and as Billy says totally in keeping with the Community Club ethos. There cannot hardly be a family in this land not blighted by the scourge of cancer. So please give generously to any fundraising initiatives mounted by our chosen charities at the Dripping Pan this coming season.

Billy, I know you mean well with your posting but you've got it wrong. Lewes FC as a Community Club is very happy to work with and facilitate charities. It feels the right thing to do. But we are by definition a non-league football club and need our own income streams to continue and thrive as a football club that provides great football, fun and community spirit for our fans. The money the Trust has (and which I do believe is about to be put at the disposal of Lewes FC) was raised by Rooks fans through the old Supporters Club. It was raised for the benefit of Lewes FC and that's where it should end up. Anything we as fans can do to promote and publicise the charities we are supporting is great and hugely commendable but do not confuse the commercial requirements of sustaining Lewes FC with the desire to give profile to deserving charities.

Yes it would be nice to know who will profit from this sell-off. Not "owners" apparently.

Great charity – but a note of caution: another Maggie sank the Belgrano. I hope there are no repercussions. Didn't anybody realise the combination could be a bit awkward?

We did a promotion for this Charity at work. I think it would be nice to invite a charity to every home match so they can collect money on the way out. Also feature the charity in the match programme and on the site.
It was Chris Wreford-Brown on HMS Conqueror that sank the Belgrano. I wasn't aware his nickname was Maggie. Speaking of Falklands subs, I have been on HMS Onyx when it was docked in Birkenhead in 1992.

The putting of charities' names on the shirts is a great initiative though I hope we don't end up like Barca, 400mil in debt!!! Joking aside, this is very admirable and something to be proud of as the lost revenue from shirt sponsorship must be a dent in the finances, though it illustrates how clued up some of the people at the club are for them to be able to sustain the necessary income and provide this unique service.
