The King is back and rightfully so. Well documented how badly he was dealt the blow last time, but can he reachieve what no one else has managed at the club? I say yes and it was a massive, repeat massive brave decision to come back, he has nothing to prove, BUT how many managers return to clubs and do well second time around, not all.
Im delighted he's back but part of me cant get excited even with some old faces returning as although I know there's been changes at the club, what happened last time around was nothing short of a disgrace and there's always a little niggle if something like that happened again it would be too much to bear.

Well how about sharing it with all of us then?
Privately if you don't want to post it.

Let's not get back on this dreary treadmill. We are where we are and the rest of our non-league football following lives start right here (well actually last Saturday with what by all accounts was a brilliant and assured comeback by the new, improved and even Mightier Rooks against a St Neots side that were no mugs and won their League last season).
The facts are that we've so far sold just about double the number of season tickets we sold last season. There's a real buzz of anticipation in the town - people are talking about the coming season with huge enthusiasm. Sponsorship is picking up. I do believe about 350 fans have taken up the 'own a share' offer with many pledging much more than the minimum £30. The Rook Inn is being renovated. We have a new kitchen. All the new onerous ground-grading rules (public first aid room with running water etc plus a control room for the Safety Officer) have been tackled head-on thanks to great efforts by volunteers. All in all things are looking pretty good.
All that our loyal and patient fans now want to see is good, attractive football from our boys and with Lewes FC at last being a competitive team again and capable of winning matches and challenging for honours. So there's not much pressure on the manager is there then? Steve King is that manager. Let's all get behind him. The future has already begun.

They acted properly by replacing SK with KK, sorry Billy but there is something illegal in your Sangria! Billy...you love this club so much why are you doing your up most to split fans...what has SK done to you? or the club to make you so bitter. Me myself will always blame ME for listening to KK's lies. Kingy never wrote the cheques the board at the time did, they were the ones that nearly brought this club to its death so please stop. Excuse me for being abrupt but I'm beginning to think you are lacking ambition for this great club. Did you buy your share Billy?

I answered no to this, purely because, even though we have a manager like SK who has proven before that he can take clubs up. With our budget and boards tight grip on it we will struggle against some of the better teams in the league, as said in another thread though, I will reserve judgement on league placings after I have had more time to see the Ryman teams.
Also I found that on a lot of sites we get hated because we have cocky people that think we will win every time because we have this or we have that, look what happened last time, so I want to reserve my thoughts. If we win a more games then we have the last few seasons then I dont mind where we finish to be honest.

For god sake, isn't this kind the kind of off-season in-bickering that got the other forum closed down!??
Give it a rest guys and lets discuss more pertinent things eh? Such as shareholder take-up, season ticket sales and new players, lets leave the management until we actually play some fixtures...

Agree with david arnold, let's not go down this road again. Sounds like the club is on the up again and there is a buzz about the place once more. Personally I don't believe there is much pressure on SK. He could finish mid-table and many would be happy with that after what has been endured during the last three years. I expect Lewes to at least gain a play-off spot with his past record and claims to be able to do so on a tight budget. I never saw the article but someone on the old forum stated he had moaned about the difficulty of putting a side together on the money available. Somewhat contradictory!! But in answer to this threads question, Yes.

Yes it would be nice to know who will profit from this sell-off. Not "owners" apparently.
