Every match in all three Ryman divisions was called off today apart from one. The game at Maidstone United on their 'magnificent'(Gus Poyet) 3G pitch was never for one moment in doubt. At least all these other clubs can be grateful that the washout occurred on the last Saturday before Christmas (usually a low attendance day) instead of on Boxing day, often the biggest gate of season (weather permitting, of course). That's apart from Margate. They got into the festive spirit by spending the day - well, up until 2:30 pm - at the Lowestoft Christmas pantomime: 'the game's on', 'oh no it isn't', 'oh yes it is'. www.pitchcare.com/magazine/maidstone-united-a-case-of-3g-or-going-bust.html

On Radio Five, Robbie Savage just said that the artificial pitches he's played on are superb and that all the players loved playing on them.
(Not that he knows jack shat about diddly squat)

seems pitch cant handle snow, it cant be cleared as it will damage the fibers in it

agree...poor and dangerous surfaces.....ok for training.. They are esp for knees they just dont act the same as grass pitch, ok for training on. And the pitches at Brighton in the Amex are 4G as i used to play on them they have 2 inside the ground.

I torn my ACL playing on the artificial pitch on at Waterhall. I 100% blame the surface.
