:DPlease come along tomorrow night (Monday 25 July) for the 7pm (yes, 7pm) kick-off when Lewes Under 18s meet AFC Wimbledon Under 18s in an intriguing pre-season friendly at the Dripping Pan. Admission is just £3 and the snack bar and Rook Inn will both be open - the latter with lovely Harveys Best on draught. We've got an exciting crop of youngsters under the stewardship of Lewes favourite Simon Wormull so let's give him and the boys our full support. I think the game promises to be a cracker. Kingy will be there observing. Weather forecast is good so where better to be than the Dripping Pan on a lovely summer's evening. Please spread the word and make sure fans know that the kick-off is early at 7pm.

:DPriority to this please. Very, very important to support the young lads. With a retaively small first team squad dictated by budget some of these guys will definitely figure in the front line so here's your chance to see who can do what.

Yes it would be nice to know who will profit from this sell-off. Not "owners" apparently.

Could only stay for the first half as they kicked off later than scheduled. What a great display, good to see players who can receive the ball, control it and pass to a team mate when closely marked by opposing player. Think our goalkeeper had to make one save in the first half, we could have scored five. Great display for first game with Simon at the helm

:DIt was a splendid evening with some great football. An accident at the top of the M23 delayed the Dons and the officials so the 7pm kick-off was put back to 7.45pm. In fact this helped as quite a few fans turned up at around 7.30pm having failed to note the earlier scheduled kick-off time. Over 130 spectators were there - a brilliant turn-out for a friendly and so pleased they were rewarded with an excellent display. It was first time at the Dripping Pan for one lad; he works in Lewes, lives in Brighton and is a Wimbledon season ticket holder. However, I think we will see him at the Dripping Pan a few more times this season as he was most impressed with the ground and ambience.

Sorry to miss this – and next week's fans' forum, damn it – but there's already a buzz about the town as we build towards the new season. Very much looking forward to Sunday's fare . . .

Unfortunately it looks like our new Striker Trevor McCready will be out for the rest of the season, after damaging his knee against AFC Wimbledon. Trevor will be seeing a specialist on Monday, but news from the hospital already is that he will have to rest the knee for at least two/three months. Trevor who played at the Bristol City Youth Academy and followed the coaching staff from Bristol City to the new Stoke City Academy at U15 and U16 level, also played with one of the other Lewes Youth Boys at Stoke City U16 level, but both played with the u18's. Both was released due to the 90mins law from your place of education. Trevor was signed as a first year by Crawley last year and asked to play-out this season as a second year. Trevor would have been a major signing for Lewes youth, as major Pro Academies wanted him to sign for them this summer. I also understand that we have a major player returning to the Lewes Youth fold this season after some disappointment and disruption within the team last season.

Wish the young lad a speedy recovery and implore fans to get along to whatever youth games they can make. I believe that good youth football is often more entertaining than the seniors. Hopefully good coverage of all teams will be given on this and the official site.

Lets hope the web page is updated, photos of the current team, not the team of two years ago, the results within a day or so. If the admin bods need help with the web page for the u18s all they got to do is ask?
