Hi!
We're four Lewes fans from Norway (believe it or not). We're thinking about making the trip to Lewes and watching a game at the Dripping Pan late July/early August. But we need some guidance.
What's the nearest airport? Is train the best way to travel from the airport? Do you have any tips regarding cheap accommodation?
Thanks in advance!

Gatwick is nearest airport and train from airport goes straight to Lewes Station which is 2 mins from dripping pan. Takes about 35 mins from Gatwick to Lewes. First league game is on 18 August but there are some home friendlies before - 17 July Brighton; 21 July Dover; 3 August Eastbourne. If you can't find anywhere cheap to stay in Lewes them Brighton is only 15 mins away by train.

Thanks for the help so far. Based on our vecations it might be for a freandly match, but we're stoked about making the trip. If anyone has tips about cheap hotels/hostels in the area, it would be much appretiated. What'sthe standard "buildup" before matches, and what is the aftermath? Kind regards -Eirik EDIT: We might get a long weekend early autumn to work too, but late july/early august is first priority. Maybe we'll turn into regulars!

:DThe intro sounds like we are about to get some very late votes for Englebert Humperdinck in the Eurovision Song Contest. But as we really did have four Norwegians take in a Lewes game three seasons ago (and got a pic of themselves in the local rag holding aloft a rather lovely blonde German lass who also had dropped in for a game - the story and snap appeared in a trendy column called Dripping Yarns) I believe this posting may well be true and not a Borat-style wind-up. So Elrik if you want some help in sorting stuff for a visit then please PM me on this forum. Bring your sleeping bags and you could even kip in the famous Rook Inn! Mind you, I seem to remember that a single beer in Norway costs more than two nights in a B&B in Lewes.
