:DWe did the April draw at 2.30pm in the Rook Inn last Saturday (28 April) before the Harrow game. Peter Brook drew the first ball. Now it just so happened that my brother-in-law Alan Huxley was down nearby and enjoying a pint. He called out 'Draw number 25 please'. And Peter promptly did so! Unbelievable. Alan won £58 first prize for being number 25. He was then asked to draw the second winning ball and in turn he pulled out number 4 - which is the ball of his sister Barbara! Now she was outside busily flogging raffle tickets but was later delighted to learn she had scooped £29. Kevin Fingerneissl drew the third winner and it was number 61, the ball of Clive Shelley who will also receive £29. As a postscript to the draw, 'Heathfieldrook' put in an appearance just a few hours after landing at Gatwick following a two-week holiday in Turkey. He and brother-in-law Alan hadn't met in nearly five decades but it turned out they went to school in Uckfield together. These coincidences and connections just keep on coming!
