Absolute madness the attempt to pass off the bill to fans, after a pretty flat season on the pitch.
Should never have been entered if we couldn’t afford it. If the club can’t pay then over to the players - you know, those grown adults with jobs and who the majority are financially remunerated to play for the club. Not up to fans to pay for their lovely long weekend at Lake Garda.

Is this a late April fools day Fans to pay the players and management to have jolly boys trip to Italy . Surely the Directors or the people who organised this should pay

Absolutely right. We spend our money on memberships, season tickets and travel and admission to away games. We are also happy to contribute, if able, to things like the floodlight fund, as we did during the Covid lockdown.
To be asked to contribute to something that the club knew was a possibility when they entered the 'tournament' is close to insulting. The club should pay and if they can't, the players should.

The club aren't forcing you to donate money, just don't bother if it upsets you that much! I'm sure lots of other people who have enjoyed the European games will.

Commented on this nonsense on the Mercury13 thread, after we were all assured that these games were 'cost neutral'. Turns out only the group games might have been. Seems that the directors have now spent all the money left by their former co-directors, and are now after ours to spend next. How about they spend their own on this vanity exercise instead?

Asking supporters to pay for an end of season jolly for management and players for whom probably none of them will be at the club next season anyway,so let the new directors put hands in their pockets and if anyone else wants to chip in so be it.

According to one of your ex-directors Horsham have LoadsaMoney therefore maybe a bucket collection on Tuesday could help, maybe not, as the same ex-director said this tournament was self funding! Understanding of sustainable finance of a club not a strength of the board.

Understanding of sustainable finance of a club not a strength of the board. You're wrong. Thanks to the sort of slippery 'managing of the message' that we've got used to, it was only the group games that were called self-funding...
But your final sentence is correct.

Therefore the budgeting for this PR exercise was that you would not qualify beyond the group stages, more smoke and mirrors. Why has Stuart not jumped in on this thread?

There was never any mention of only the travel costs for the group games being budgeted for. There were plenty of questions about funding, too, and assurances given. Bit naughty to drop it now, as there was a pretty good chance we'd qualify against quite weak opposition. What happened to gate receipts from the two home games..all kept by the home team and presumably not included in season ticket? Must have been close to 2000 fans across the 2 matches, not to mention bar profits. Does this mean that any shortfall will affect next season's budget?
