Whew.... it got tight at the end. On one hand we scored off a corner but then late we repeated our ongoing problem of defending corners. We gave Watford corners several chances near the end. Fortunately, they only scored one.
A win was critical, and the women delivered. I saw an intensive level not seen a lot previously. Maria Farrugia is developing into a very good attacking midfielder, and I thought that Jacqui Hand fit very well as an outside half. IMO it was Jacqui's best match of the season. It's fun watching Sara Brasero-Carreira play as she's all legs and arms flailing away.
Unfortunately, London City also won today which kept us from gaining points on them. Winning w more of our remaining matches would make me happy.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the 1200+ fans in attendance for the Watford match that was so crucial for the women. I believe that the atmosphere really helped spur them on to victory. 800 would have been nice. 1000+ would have been great. But 1200+ Maybe it was the free pints...... if so, maybe the supporters or the owners can come up with a plan to subsidize future incentives.
