Perhaps minds were still on the Eurostar at 3.01pm, and the early confidence knocker was the last thing needed after recent league results, but overall the win was just about fair. A workmanlike performance, rather than full of flair, but all about the result. I thought some of the passing was very wasteful, almost gifting Cheshunt a second goal. Also required a brilliant save from Harvey who, along with Elliot, has been the signing of the season. Has barely made a mistake. Shout out too for Salmon, who hasn't had much game time but did well, and Wood who held the ball up well, ran at their defence and scored a deft header. Just when you start to give up on him he shows there's a player in there. Still think he could add some aggression to his play. Not sure how much we learned from the win...Cheshunt were not a particularly physical team with two or three players of diminished stature. Dreher looked decent and presumably now he's getting up to full fitness we will see more of him. After the awful recent run, with injured players coming back, hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Tommy is more aggressive than you think, but he rarely makes a fuss when he’s bundled over or fouled. Three welcome points and a squad that has gelled massively in the last week

Concidering the lads have had a busy week they played very well and really should have won by more. Cheshunt have been whacking in goals for fun so the defence played very well although I totally agree Salmon needs more games (no pre season)to get fully match fit. Tommy worked very hard as per usual and for me we had pace, technique and looked very similar to last seasons team who I feel man to man were slightly better. We played football , worked hard and won.

We played football , worked hard and won. No reflection on Wood, who has a thankless task up front on his own and had an impossible act to follow, but Taylor aside I don't think last season's team was any better. We've probably improved in the middle with Elliot and Vint (although he needs a break), both full backs are good and I rate Harvey above Carey. I think midfield is still an issue, getting the balance right especially away, but Pritchard is playing better than last season, Whelpdale has his moments and Penney has done an excellent job in the defensive role (passing not as good as Tyrique Hyde but wins a phenomenal amount of headers). Stick Sablier and Gondoh in the team (with Moore on the other wing) and we have a starting 11 that's easily good enough for the play offs. I'm still baffled that we haven't at least tried to get another forward in on loan, although I suppose it's not for the want of trying.

Quite an enjoyable end-to-end game. But Jesus H Christ, how many times did we blast the ball over the crossbar!

Thought the big difference yesterday was having two wingers in Ola and Kalvin who could take men on and cross/ shoot. Gave us an undeniable edge.

That was a welcome 3pts. Games in hand still but three big games coming up. Hornchurch, Whitehawk both lost and BR drew. Hopefully, Santa will be delivering win win win parcels to the pan 🎅. COYR
