Signed for Horsham. Is there an ex-players thread at all?

I'm sure I read this somewhere a few weeks ago. Rumours are that Horsham are splashing the cash a bit this season. But there are always rumours.

I'm sure I read this somewhere a few weeks ago. Rumours are that Horsham are splashing the cash a bit this season. But there are always rumours. Based on what they’ve offered 2 of our squad from last season and a former Rook I would say so. Naturally I won’t say who else they have signed but one is a centre back who leaps like a Salmon and the other, well…

...he could be a champion! Metaphorically, of course.

Players come and go. That’s standard. If Will Salmon is going to Horsham then good luck to him but I felt Tony and co would be looking in other areas for defenders and the new signings suggest that!
I think we’ll have much more pace at the back this season. We conceded some poor goals last season!
Carey leaving is a shame and his comments on the Horsham website suggest all was not well but I can’t be sure.
Horsham don’t seem to me like they’re bringing in anyone particularly exciting. They were decent last year and I’ll imagine they’ll be up there again!

I didn't read any falling out from the interview Carey gave after joining Horsham. Just looking for a change of scene and the artificial pitch will suit his style of play. I think most agree that the defence needs a rebuild so not shedding tears over Salmon joining Horsham, much as I like him. Hopefully we will be a bit more solid and also bring in a more commanding keeper ...the trade off may be that who ever it is won't be so confident with the ball at his feet. As for Horsham I'm sure they will challenge but it's a pretty soulless stadium and, call me old fashioned, but I want to see my football played on grass. Eagerly waiting for new signings. Good to see that Gondoh is still around and Moore, who still has improvement in him. Assume Murtagh is a replacement for Hyde, whose mind is unlikely to be on football any time soon. Fixtures out next week, I believe. Is it Thursday? I know NLN and South were released a few days ago.

Good luck to Salmon, thought he was very ordinary last year to be brutally honest and not reliable enough if we want to be going up - glad to see there’s a new back line.
Guess Hyde won’t be coming back, read the other day he was the bookies favourite to win that garbage - but we look suitably covered in the middle now.

Before anyone asks…yes, we spoke to James Hammond but the offer Horsham gave him was significant

It’s so strange how are opinions vary. Although not a 9-10 every game I feel Carey, Salmon and Champion always played a Steve Finnon 7 out of 10 every week. To often last season players went from 9 to a 5 in just one week and to be successful I feel first you need player consistency which will improve team consistency. We look OK at the moment but this tough league will test everyone this season.

Maybe some players have physical jobs or work shift (guessing here!). I know I couldn't do much after an 0230 finish (did that last week!).
