Ex Lewes boss Danny Bloor has left Eastbourne Borough. That's surprising since they've done well under him and only just missed out on a play off place. All achieved on a tight budget too apparently. New ownership has just been confirmed, so one wonders whether he jumped or was pushed.

Danny Bloor sacked as Eastbourne Borough manager on Eastbourne

DANNY BLOOR SACKED AS EASTBOURNE BOROUGH MANAGER PETER LINDSEY6 JUNE 2023 EASTBOURNE Borough Manager Danny Bloor has been sacked as manager – 3 days after Simon Leslie took over the club.
Here’s Danny: “I would no longer be required at the club in my current capacity as the club has decided to look in a new direction.
It goes without saying, that this is a decision that I am bitterly disappointed with given the significant successes both on & off the field that I have been privileged to have been involved with.

I don't blame him for being disappointed.

I don't blame him for being disappointed. The new owner has said they are going down a stats based approach to recruitment (what ever that means). One of those where you can't help think it will end in tears.

I think the "stats based model" is what Brighton have been using. It seems to have worked for them.

I think the "stats based model" is what Brighton have been using. It seems to have worked for them. It would work for us as well if we had a multi-million pound owner and a World Cup winning player!

It only works at Brighton because of de Zerbi. It’s not a computer that tells teenage South American kids that they’re good enough for the Premier League or convinces Solly March that he’s good for 10 goals a season. And success in football is not all about money - look at Chelsea.
I hope it doesn’t go completely belly up there. It always looks like it well run but it doesn’t take much to go into a downward spiral.

I think it’s fair to say that the sacking of Danny Bloor was brutal. Particularly as the incoming owner beautiful had said, one of the reasons that he was attracted to the club was because of Danny. I think a number of felt that he would’ve been given a chance with a higher budget, even if it was only for a short period of time.
