We did the ‘Pan for Gold’ draws for October and November in the Rook Inn after today’s fine win for the Mighty Rooks over Bishop’s Stortford in the FA Trophy. Ringmer Junior School Headmaster Dave Evans was a witness together with Club stalwart Kevin Brook and his very young son George plus Southover Bonfire Society Chairman, Johnny Marshall. Between them they drew the winners as follows: October 1st Prize of £60.50 went to Jason Foulkes (No 18). 2nd Prize of £30.50 went to Nick Canaan (No 9). 3rd Prize also of £30.50 went to Jean Parris (No 32). The three balls of the October winners were then put back in the bag for the November draw. Little George drew out No 1 – the ball of Lewes legend Ibbo. I do believe he’s on honeymoon right now but anyway his £60.50 prize stays in to cover his next ‘Pan for Gold’ subscription. Second ball out was for that oh so regular winner John Ellis – No 45, scooping him £30.50. I’m pleased to say that the final ball for the November £30.50 third prize was NOT drawn by George Brook. Otherwise it would have been embarrassing because his Dad, Kevin (No 64) was the winner!

I have heard from Nick Cannan that he wants his £30.50 prize money to be put into the Men's First Team 12th Man Fund. Will be done.
