We did the April draw at Tuesday's meeting of the Lewes FC Supporters Club in the Rook Inn. At the request of Norman Duncan, Susie Arlett drew the ball winning the first prize of £60.50. It was ball number 13. And it belonged to Norman Duncan! He's lucky there were plenty of witnesses to see it was properly done. Next ball out was number 23 - one of two owned by Peter Hiscox. Peter wasn't present but had sent a message to say he needed to stand down as Supporters Club Chairman as he felt his health situation was telling him it was time to take it easy. He wins £30.50. Third ball out was number 64. It's owned by Susan Evans who is our super Secretary to the Supporters Club but amazingly also happens to be Norman's partner! However, I can assure you that the draw was, as always, fair and square. We will at a later date give a proper 'thank you' to Peter Hiscox and also Derrick Parris, who retired as Treasurer earlier last season, for the many, many years of selfless service they have given to the Rooks. Both men continue to support the club as much as they can. For the record, I am now Chairman of the Supporters Club, Alan Sayers is Vice Chairman, Paul 'PJ' Johnson is Treasurer and Sue Evans is Secretary. We are fortunate to have attracted several new members to the Committee over recent months and these include Susie Arlett, Gary Blaber and Dave Evans (no relation to Sue). More recruits with ideas for fundraising etc always welcome. Email me at: david.arnold@me.com We will do the next 'Pan for Gold' draw on Bonfire Cup day, Saturday 14 May.
