Despite all the work done to date by the groundsmen the pitch still looks pretty bad as of yesterday afternoon. The ground is saturated and there are still a lot of puddles across the surface. I would say touch and go for Saturday, especially if heavy rain in the morning of the game. It goes on and on....

Hello from South London! Really hope the game goes ahead on Sat. I reckon there should be about 100 of us coming from Dulwich... Looking forward to sampling the delights of Lewes' pubs, have heard great things

I'm not obsessed or anything but went past the pitch again this afternoon and looks much much better - two groundsmen working on it as well.
And welcome to the Dulwich boys and girls - yes lots of great pubs in Lewes.

Looking at the pitch about half houre ago I would think tomorrow's game must be in serious doubt ,with the normal places particularly in the south west corner with a large lake as always ,and with a couple of other places with standing water but not as bad ,as for the rest of the pitch it looks in great condition so let's hope we dont get a lot more rain .

Jack and Joe Fingerneissl (our superb groundsmen) will be working through the afternoon and evening to clear all or at least most of the standing water on the pitch. Luckily the forecast for the best part of tonight and tomorrow is dry so if the majority can we removed then we should give ourselves a very good chance of getting the game on with a number of hours of natural drying time.
We'll assess it again tonight and first thing tomorrow morning to see where we stand. We're obviously hoping we don't need a pitch inspection but if we do it'll be around 10am.
Keep an eye on @lewes_cfc for further updates.
P.s. Get yourselves to the beer festival tonight to not only sample the brilliant array of beers on offer but to also see Jack and Joe's sterling efforts and how the pitch is looking!

Not going to be the same. I hate change. Waking up on a Saturday morning to discover the game called off was what I live for. Now it looks like I will have to drag myself out of bed and go to watch bloomin football tomorrow. This sucks.

The bad new is there were two lake size puddles on the pitch this afternoon, but the good news is it should be dry now up to kick-off. Sounds like another lot of hard work for our heroic groundstaff !
