:DWith no football tomorrow (Saturday) why not go out to the beautiful ground at Glynde to watch their top notch cricket team hopefully making history. If they beat Haywards Heath then they will become the first-ever Sussex village cricket club to make it into the Sussex Premier League. Beating Haywards Heath guarantees them promotion but depending on how Worthing fare away against Bexhill they could even go up as champions. Glynde have an excellent bar and the cricket is played against the majestic background of Mount Caburn.
PS. No pressure on Glynde to win. My son-in-law Stuart Mouland is the wicket-keeper and a few weeks back he married my daughter Helen - on a Saturday that meant some of the club's best players didn't play with the result that Glynde got thrashed and saw their promotion hopes severely dented. Last week - to make amends - Stuart scored 28 to help Glynde to an impressive win over Ifield. Come on you Glynde!
