:DAs promised we did the November draw in the Rook Inn prior to the ggame against Lowestoft. As we got ready that Lewes FC stalwart Terry Boyle came over and said he'd decided to subscribe and did I have a form? Yes I did. But I then asked him to draw the winner for November's draw even though he obviously couldn't yet be in it. He pulled out No 64 - Sue Evans. Incredibly, it was Sue's very first time in the draw and Terry won her a handsome £65 cash prize. Sue is the partner of newly elected Lewes FC Director Norman Duncan and between them the pair have been taking on more and more behind the scenes stuff in support of the Mighty Rooks - not least in helping run the recent Curry & Quiz Night and other initiatives - so it was great to see the prize go in Sue's direction. Second ball out was drawn by Terry Parris and saw £32.50 go to Chunky (Mark Cornford) who was one of the witnesses. Third prize (again of £32.50) went to Chris Hendley and Barbara was able to deliver his cheque to the man in person on the terrace. All three prizewinners must have been doubly delighted that the Mighty Rooks went on to haul in three precious points. I'm awaiting Terry's completed application form (no pressure there mate) but it was good today to receive a standing order from Jim Thornton for two monthly entries into 'Pan for Gold'. That will put us over 70. Our goal is 100. Please help us cross that line.
