after the rooks problems with the tax man and then pompey and rangers....it seems that several huge companies just dont pay what they should to hm tax person. today, it's a massive coffee mob and we are told it's legal. news corporation.....murdochs mob...based in delaware..paid NO uk corporation tax between 1987 and 1999. in that period profits were 1.4 billion quid. in 2009, an american government report stated that news corp. had 152 subsidiaries in off shore tax havens. in 2009 and 2010 no tax paid despite the tax liability of 20 million gbp. this was allowed by group relief in other murdoch companies. ernst&young, the groups auditor, missed all the payments to gordon taylor and max clifford. easy mistake as they missed the 50 billion dollar lehman brothers scandal and numerous other dodgy incidents of money manipulations. so the 'no pay tax accounts' are written up by ernst&young who get fees of nearly 900,000 quid in 2010. wonder if they pay tax. vodaphone are similar in their tax obligations...in fact, i'll stop now as this is quite boring....but if your paye or self employed, try not paying you due and see what happens. i'm off for a coffee.
