:DWith Dave 'Come Dine With Me' Lamb and his wife Nicola being present at the Lewes v Millwall Ladies game today it seemed appropriate (especially as Dave is a 'Pan for Gold' subscriber) to let their four-year-old daughter Betty do the draw honours in the Rook Inn. She pulled the ball number 5 out first. This will hugely thrill Fisher Street hairdressers Andy and Marvin as they have been in the draw since day one almost eight years ago and have never once won anything. Now they scoop £59. Little Betty then pulled out ball number 4 - which happens to be that of my missus, Barbara Arnold, who also hasn't won for years and now gets £29.50. To prove the non-bias of little Betty, the final ball winning £29.50 ball was number 63 - that of Pat Dartnell who has just very sensibly re-newed to 'Pan for Gold' in August after an absence of three seasons. Pat is best witness to the simple rule that you've got to be in it to win it. Just £5 per month subscription and 40% returned in prize money per month.

:)It's brilliant to post that Fisher Street hairdressers Andy & Marvin - winners of the August first prize in 'Pan for Gold' - have decided to put their £59.50 cash prize into two £30 annual shares in Lewes FC (they are topping up the extra 50p). They say they will keep up the shareholding regardless of what they win in future. Great stuff. Remember that Andy & Marvin are the only gentlemens' hairdressing outfit in Lewes affiliated to Lewes FC Support & Save where they can cut your hair and you can cut 10% off the price.

:DBe in the Rook Inn at 2.30pm on Sunday before the Lowestoft game and you can draw the first ball (after witnessing that your own ball is in the bucket - painful as that may be but then maybe the prize money can go towards the surgery). Can't say fairer than that!
