In the last 15 years we’ve not had a home attendance of anywhere near 1,000 in the SSC. Our biggest attendances have been against Brighton and Eastbourne Borough. In 2014/15 we played Brighton in the 2nd Round (attendance 463) and Eastbourne Borough in the QF (422). In the Semi-Final at Lancing against Loxwood it’s fair to say we had the majority of the 392 crowd that night. In 2018/19 we played Brighton at home again in the second round and had an attendance of 350ish. Indeed, and if the non entry had been for financial reasons I would get it. However the suggestion Lewes didn't enter the SSC to declutter the calendar is obviously nonsense, and I can't imagine the Fenix has been a money spinner either (and if it was then the fund raiser is a bit odd). The club’s decision not to enter the SSC this season wasn’t driven by potential fixture congestion. The decision to not enter the Isthmian League cup was.
