Bognor fan here. Just wanted to say forget the melee at the end (only saw the players all bundled around each other,so can’t have a say as I don’t know what went kn)but that was a quality game of football. End to end. From our perspective seeing we had Canvey at the weekend then yourselves on the Monday and thinking great I’ll be happy if we got any sort of points over those two games. I fancy Lewes to be up there and at 25/1 at 365 seemed silly not to have a £5 on this. Regarding the player that went of injured I hope it’s nothing to serious and makes a speedy recovery. I know our number 4 (Calvin Davies) has become bit of a pantomime villian, just plays the game with his heart on his sleeve and as a person is such a nice lad. Anyway see you at The Dripping Pan NYD,would have been happier this was the Easter away game. Last note, great atmosphere from both sets of supporters yesterday. 👏🏽 It was a great game of football - Lewes bosses the first half after a strong Bognor start. Rooks should have put the game to bed early in second half then we seemed to lose our way for a period. Fair result I feel and a decent atmosphere. No comment on Davies’ antics

While we didn't look amazing defensively for the whole game, I thought we looked the better side going forward in the first half with Ryan and Deon always looking threatening. The second half on the other hand was very much the opposite - we had lost Ryan to a terrible challenge and really struggled to make any sort of momentum until late on. Fatigue was starting to show and 6 minutes after they equalised we've made another slack pass at the back leading to a penalty and them taking the lead.
Whelpdale was subbed on in the final 10, who I thought did well to control the game, and we started putting pressure on as we forced them to concede corners. Our goal was certainly a bit of a fluke but the boys showed great determination in pushing to the end despite the tired legs. Plus, after conceding the late goal against Hornchurch I felt we deserved a bit of luck this time. Keiran almost sent us into rapture right at the end with a couple of chances but it wasn't to be.
We now sit in 7th, unbeaten, and with 11 points after 5 games (albeit 4th to 7th are all sitting on 11). The boys have some time to recover now for the FA Cup game and while we have to respect our opponents with a full-strength side, I think I'd like to see Tamplin start again who I thought played well.
I'd also like to praise our fans who were attentive and showed respect by joining the 78th minute applause, despite the frustration with how the game was going.

Was a lovely touch for your fans to Join in,it meant a lot to the family that was at the game. 💚

Bit off topic, I’d be interested to hear what people thought of Wood yesterday?
I’ll continue to back him and support him the whole time he’s in a Lewes shirt, but for how much longer that will be - I’m not sure. He looks like he’s missing that extra half a yard, not sure what sort of pre season he had. Feel like he’s not got the beating of many centre halves this year and to be honest, hasn’t looked threatening in front of goal and I’ve been to all games except Potters.
No goals in five says it all, you’d think TR must be out scouting for a big scorer over the next few weeks. Hopefully Wood proves me wrong and comes good, but we will see.

I think Wood is one of the reasons we are getting more goals out of our wingers. Very early days but I would say no goals in 5 games doesn't tell the full story. I don't think many defenders will have enjoyed playing against him and more importantly out front three as a whole.

I thought Wood was very good against Hornchurch, held it up nicely and won a lot of free kicks to get us up the pitch. He only joined a week before the season began and don’t think he played a lot last year so has the potential to get better the more he plays.
Hope he gets a goal soon though as no doubt that will be playing on his mind

Still unbeaten. Rescued a point today thanks to OG. Need to avoid to many draws though as they did for us last season. COYR

Bognor's red cards scrapped on appeal. Have we also appealed?

Bognor's red cards scrapped on appeal. Have we also appealed? We haven’t received a charge yet for our red card.
