3-0 down half time. 4 horrendous bits of defending. They missed the easiest chance. Lots of neat football but no threat and no shots on goal.

Lost 4-0. Loads of possession but no threat. Less said about the defensive performance the better.

Doesn’t sound very promising with only two weeks before the season starts, only seen the peacehaven game the defence looked very poor then thought it may have improved a bit bye now but doesn’t sound like it hope things improve soon or could be a worrying start to the season.

Not sure if the mid-week friendly is happening, perhaps a good idea or extra training on defending? Pre-Season is 'what it is' in terms of fitness and finding out who/what works? Hopefully with the match next Saturday at home we will/can build up confidence for the start of the proper season.

There is a training game on Tuesday.
A few players missing today - Ayo injured, Whelpdale away.
I wouldn’t judge too much on pre-season. We won 7 out of 8 games under Steve Brown and drew 0-0 with a full strength Brighton side…then were in bottom four after 5 games

I hope Tony is as relaxed as you Stuart 😁 He didn't look very relaxed today. At half time we watched him with the team. He was very animated. I'm guessing he wasn't that impressed with the defending either. Sometimes it's best to just put your laces through the ball.

I hope Tony is as relaxed as you Stuart 😁 No, he understandably wasn’t happy with the performance, especially in the first half. I wouldn’t say I’m ever relaxed about games but I certainly think we have a strong squad. We showed some promise in the second half

I’ve gone to a few pre season games and I still can’t understand the decision to play the ball out from the back. The quality within our defence isn’t there and this just puts us under pressure. Number 6 in defence always plays the ball back and struggles to pass the ball forward. He’s great at reading the ball in the air and winning a header but needs to work on passing forward.
The most creative player we seem to have is the number 4 in midfield. He has great ability at finding a forward pass and releasing guys on the wing. Number 7 upfront adds no attacking presence at all. He plays far too wide and doesn’t challenge for any balls nor does he track back to support the press. He needs to play off the shoulder of the last defender and work on cutting inside.
Number 17 for Maidstone yesterday looked a good player with some serious pace!
