Do national minimum wage rules apply to this sort of job? Cos it looks impossible to do what's being asked, all for about two and a half grand for the season. Can't imagine doing anything worse, tbh!

To my knowledge it's never been a well paid job. I've always thought of it, rightly or wrongly, as more of a volunteer post for a keen supporter with the wages covering expenses.

Surprised its two and half grand for this level. Sure its more involved than I know. But given codgers like are paying only six quid a game with season ticket . So what does manager get?

Can't say I know who Clive is but, if he was the old kit manager, I imagine he thought "sod that for a game of soldiers". The job description is online, and it'll all add up to hours and hours of dogsbody-ing for well under minimum wage - by the looks of it.

Don’t worry Sedlescombe . I am sure the club know how to get round this point. Be sure however that had the role been for a kit ‘person’ for the ladies team it would have come with a salary of 25k as well as a company car!

I’d be happy in the knowledge that the same role was paid the same for each team regardless of genitalia. As for the job. I wouldn’t want the subject “got around”. It would be render worthless for the reputation of Equalty FC to be found to be an exploitative employer, hence my question as toe whether this was really a volunteer role. Given it isn’t I must trust the powers at be that we comply with the appropriate employment law.
