:DJust heard from wonder-groundsman Roger that the Lewes Youth have won 5-3 at Dartford this evening. Brilliant stuff just now from the First Team, Lewes Young Rooks and the incredible Ladies. Bring on the massive Trophy game against Cray Wanderers this Saturday - bring as many folk as you can to the Dripping Pan!

I will let you know more as soon as I know.

8-)Again the Under-18s stoked the fire with an amazing win over Dartford Under-18 Academy Team to put us through to the first round of the Youth FA Cup. The qualifying rounds were quite hard even looking at the score lines obviously in the favor of Lewes Under-18s. This year we have beaten 3 academy teams, who work train and play football 5-6 days a week, our boys are lucky to get 1 training session a week due to weather, the light etc etc. Even though the Dartford team only had 10 men you could see their fitness levels and football skills where evidently better than ours for the first 20 minutes. But saying that we still managed to hit the bar and make the Dartford keeper work between the posts. After 10 minutes one of the Dartford players was sent off for a 2 footed challenge which seemed to fire them up even more and was a constant attack against our defenders, in these attacks they literally went 2-0 up. The remaining 25 mins of the first half Lewes seemed to gather their minds and start playing football with some outstanding football skills from the forwards. We scored twice with the 2nd goal in the last minute of the first half bringing the score level at 2-2. 2nd half Lewes much better, used the extra man, kept the ball on the floor, played football and scored 3 more times to make it 5-2. Lewis keeper made 1 fantastic save inthe last 10 minutes. It was nice to see the first team manager, Steve King make his 3rd or 4th appearance at an U18s game, which is much appreciated by the players. :oIt was also nice to see so many Premiership and Championship scouts and mingling with our first team manager in the bar afterwards. It has taken 4 hard games to get to this round lets hope we can make a good account of ourselves at Brentford in November.

Fantastic win and well done to them. A freind of mine plays in the team and funny enough acctually missed our college game due to this game (Good choice as we lost 5-0 to Stenying !)
Im sure they are delighted and they deserve there chance to play at a football league ground in Brentford.

No replays in the FA Youth Cup so it's extra time and pens in each round (the semis and final are two legs).
Date for your diary...Wednesday 2nd November. Brentford U18's v Lewes U18's in the 1st Round of the FA Youth Cup.
See the official site for a further annoucement about this tie in due course.
