Another defeat on a bad run at the moment thought we started off the better team last night until the own goal then the mistake leading up to the second goal. After that and the sending off it was game over a lot of running with know end result don’t think we’re a play off team now even if we did make it i don’t think we would win them if we can’t beat them now.

Ronnie was sent off for fouls and abusive language, which according to the referee can be an offence committed by a player towards another player. If that was strictly enforced in any game everyone would be abandoned. We asked the referee to provide one example of where it had been applied in a game previously and he declined to answer That's probably true, but he didn't help himself by leaning over the prone opponent in what looked a very aggressive manner, gesticulating as he did so, while presumably giving him some helpful feedback. He gave the referee the option, which a bit more discipline and self control would have avoided.

I don’t disagree and if he had been red carded for the foul itself, or even a yellow for the foul and a yellow for adopting an aggressive attitude, there may be a case but the clubs have been told time and time again that referees will be consistent with their decisions (the last time was a zoom call with the FA’s head of refereeing 2 weeks ago). If that is true, then the game wouldn’t have been completed.

The daft thing is that the foul wasn't bad enough for a yellow and the over-reaction to the dive (if that's what he thought it was) was excessive. All completely unnecessary . . .

A Lot of fans thin Tommy is not good enough at this level Thankless task he has though in the system we play. I thought he was starting to find his feet after a slow start but seems to have lost the plot recently. Does hold the ball up quite well imo, but no pace, doesn't get in the box enough and not great in the air. What it does show is the absolute folly of trying to get through the season with one (unproven) forward. The fact that Murtagh is plan B says it all. Maybe also time to drop Penney back into the back 4, considering he was signed as a centre half. Unfortunately the recruitment in central midfield just hasn't worked out, with Egan and Murtagh being not deemed good enough.

I'm not sure it was an overreaction, the bloke screamed in pain and rolled around the floor (after no contact) , did this for about 10 seconds to try and stop our attack and then jumped to his feet when the ball came to him. He's a cheat

From the video it looked like a foul by Vint to me but whether it was or wasn't is irrelevant to the sending off. You can't stand over someone lying on the floor like that. Definite red card whether he fouled or swore or not.
