I agree,a really good player and disappointing to see Krafty leave. You never get used to certain players going!

Major, multiple losses like this are just totally foreign to my experiences from amateur and pro leagues in the States. While it might be more of the norm in the second and lower tiers of the women's FA, I can't see how it builds a club's growth, nor with women's football in general. It's like pick-up football.

To be fair Dick, so is promotion and relegation! We have a modest budget. Most of our funding does not come from the same sources as 90% of the clubs at our level and above. Naturally, we want to keep our best players but we also have to be realistic that we are a club that will spot, and sign, players that may have slipped the attention of other clubs, and develop them. We may be able to retain some, but others will be signed by other clubs. Loyalty to clubs is not very common, and I fully understand that. It’s no different to what our Men’s team have faced in the last few years and it will only get more cut throat in the next few years as clubs professionalise. The club doesn’t just accept the inevitability of the situation - we try our hardest to keep the players but we also have to be mindful we have to build a squad, not a team, and still be sustainable for the future… The club has been criticised time after time for relying on the generous donations of a few. Now we are standing on our own two feet we have to build first team squads within budget. So, some will criticise but I’d rather see a club competing on a sustainable footing in the future than one beholden to generous benefactors

All granted Stuart. But I've come to appreciate promotion and relegation. I just wish that the prize money and other income would be more fairly distributed.
Maybe on the women's side we should emulate the men. When we have a new player come on board, and see their full potential, we sign them to an 18-month contract at mid-season. That way we might get a second year out of a key player, or maybe even a transfer fee. Talent attracts talent.
I know we try to keep them, but I certainly can't fault any player for seeking an upward climb. But as you point out, the rising professionalism will only get worse in the coming years. I'm just looking for any way to help build club and team's success.
P.S. Maybe we need a REALLY BIG benefactor <grin>. One of the US lotteries is up to $875million this Saturday. *IF* I win, I'll keep you in mind.

Grace Garrad a defender ... from the website Grace, 20, is an exciting young defender, that came through the ranks at Arsenal before making a switch to Crystal Palace in 2021.
She then found herself back in the WSL the following season with West Ham, making two appearances then joined Watford on-loan last season.
She spent the first half of the season with the Hornets, making 13 appearances and scoring three goals from the backline, including a Goal of the Month-winning strike against AFC Wimbledon in November.
Grace was a key part of their promotion campaign, but joined Norwegian side Stabæk Fotball in a permanent move in January,

Lauren Heria off to AFC Fylde in the FAWLN, Third tier North
Unannounced but looks like we’ve seen the last of Laura Hartley, Nat Johnson and Kirsty Barton too. I also imagine Libby Copus-Brown won’t be rejoining as she hasn’t been back at the club. Also sounds like Bex McKenna has a club already but it’s still unofficial so will leave that for now.
I think that leaves Aqsa Mushtaq somewhere in limbo, I haven’t heard or seen anything of her. Also had nothing on Zoe Smith, Jamie Rita or Frankie Angel but they are only peripheral figures

Bex McKenna has been signed by Charlton! Really sorry to lose this gal. But I knew it was coming from her earlier announcement. I suspect that it came down to available budget Pounds.
