I would be surprised if this has come as a shock to the board, I would imagine that Ramsgate has been sniffing around for a while. As for ‘understudy’ yes our next striker won’t be as good, but how do you replace the league’s best striker? When Saturday comes, and Deon Moore is up front, I won’t be disappointed. Things happen fast in football sometimes. It wasn’t something that was planned or even considered before a couple of days ago. I’m sure a lot of clubs sniff around players, contract or no contract - that’s always been the way in football and there’s very little anyone can do to prevent it. Hate to be the bearer of bad news…Deon is suspended for first two games…

Didn't he get 2 goals in the first game last season playing up front? Bags of talent, but still think his biggest problem is lack of self belief. Also, I'm not aware that he is confirmed signed.

No, the club have decided to play an outfield player in goal each week on a rotational basis. Of course we are going to sign/have probably already signed a keeper. Just wait for it to be announced. Nobody has any patience anymore! Up to a point. The club is advertising tickets for Saturday's game. Would you buy tickets for the theatre if you didn't know the cast? Especially as it looks like the star has gone and we may have to settle for an under study. Yeah why not? If you are a Lewes fan you would support whoever is playing for us surely?

Just seen that an Alfie Young was on the bench for Croydon athletic who play in the combined counties…..can’t be the same one surely as far too good for that level.
Although they do have some cash after being taken over by the likes of Stormzy and Wilf Zaha

Overwhelmingly fans support the club regardless of players (or cast). I doubt many people support say the Theatre Royal Brighton. Albeit there has been a slight (and weird) movement to a few people just following Ronaldo say

I’d say we’ve had around 50 players in at some point in the summer, some will turn up for a session then disappear, others will be advised they aren’t part of our plans. This is one of the reasons why the term “trialist” is used so often.
Saturday was our last pre-season competitive game. We’ve announced quite a few new players over the last couple of months, a few more agreed terms on Saturday and will be announced this week. Essentially exactly the same as we’ve done over the last two pre-season campaigns.
We could take the approach that some other clubs have done and announce players who subsequently disappear (yes, JT situation is slightly different as he was transferred), but choose not to. I’m sure if anyone has been at the pre-season games there’s been a few familiar faces.

Two decent looking signings - both young but with good experience playing in the leagues above. Looking forward to seeing them in action.
